Spring is here Ladies and Gents………..
It was a huge weekend of places last week, but our boy Boban was the highlight. You beauty!…. The big boys are well and truly out to play now for the first Saturday of Spring. Let’s dive in and re-invest some profits.
We are updating a new results spreadsheets at the moment so we can’t give an accurate yearly profit. Having said that, we would of surpassed 150 units profit easily which is a great effort so far. Let’s get another big day today and really fly towards 200 units.
Outside of getting odds early, the best way to maximise your wins is to have an online bookie that gives you the ‘Best of’ markets. The following two bookies are great to ensure you maximise your wins:
- Bet365 – gives you great odds, especially fixed markets compared to most bookies. Also give you best of the totes for exotics like quaddies and trifecta. Get a Bet365 account here
- William Hill – gives you the best of the totes for win bets and sign up now for their $700 deposit bonus (check eligibility). Get a William Hill account here
We recommend placing 1 unit each way on those with suitable place odds ($1.80 or more). Otherwise it is 2 units on the nose or 1 unit for multi’s.
Moonee Valley (Victoria)
Race 2 – Jeep Handicap (1600m) (1600m)
Analysis: Been finishing off nicely over further. Will be at peak fitness now for the drop back to 1600m and is drawn perfectly for a soft run at the Valley. This race is not as hard as her recent runs and her odds are crazy high. Nice each way go.
Race 3 – Ranvet Handicap (1500m)
Tip: Strong Hand
Analysis: Really hard to back against him here. Beat this field last start and is drawn perfectly.
Race 4 – 1print Craig Opie Cup (1600m)
Analysis: I don’t like the favourite here (which probably means it wins by 6L), but he is worse off at the weights and takes on a lot of risk at the Valley. Abbasso is drawn perfectly and was just pipped last start. Meets the favourite 2 kg better off and let’s be honest Waller is flying.
Race 5 – Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m)
Analysis: Pasadena Girl is the one to beat here but she comes in without a trial and carries her heaviest weight from barrier 12. I am putting the faith in the QLD horse. Barrier 1 and Williams aboard makes for a cosy run. Her past form was solid, beating Handfast and less the 1L from Press Statement. This daughter of Real Saga can run and is overs in my opinion.
Race 6 – The Cup Club Stakes (1200m)
Tip: Fell Swoop
Analysis: This horse is absolutely flying. Scratched out of a ripper race in Sydney, drawn ideally, drops some weight and has booked Oliver. Definitely the one to beat.
Race 7 – Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m)
Analysis: Likely to have a huge Spring that nets his owners a few dollars. This is the start, but don’t be fooled he has won 5 of 6 first up, and 2 of 3 at this distance. Drawn ideally and is clearly the cream of this crop.
Race 8 – Mitty’s McEwen Stakes (1000m)
Tip: No Tip
Analysis: Be careful in this race. I think Chautauqua goes close here but he is drawn awkwardly for the Valley and 1000m may not give him enough time to pick them up. Is also un-trialled leading in so may be a little underdone the last 50-100m, giving a few others the edge. Furnaces provides a little value and comes in near 50kg from Barrier 3.
Randwick (New South Wales)
Race 1 – Tab Rewards Handicap (2000m)
Analysis: Forget his last start. Drops some weight here and this is not hard. Unbeaten this track/distance so hard to ignore.
Race 2 – Lucrf Jockeys Trust Handicap (1600m)
Tip: Herne’s Oak
Analysis: No surprise here. There are some quality horses at the top of the list but this bloke has some ability. Look for a big finish over the 1600m.
Race 4 – Coolmore Furious Stakes (1200m)
Tip: Speak Fondly
Analysis: Very good horse resuming here and should be more mature and stronger. Trialled very well and is drawn perfectly.
Race 5 – Concorde Stakes (1000m)
Tip: Ball of Muscle
Analysis: This is a very good race and I feel a little sick going against Shiraz, but I think the Muscle gets an easy lead and will be exceptionally tough to catch.
Race 8 – Barry Nilsson Lawyers 3yo Handicap (1350m)
Tip: Saga of the Storm
Analysis: First up was a big run against a similar class. Will be fitter and get’s a nice weight drop. Watch for Cahill to ride her over the top of them.
Race 6 – Hughes Chauffeured Limousines Hcp (1250m)
Tip: Miss Gunpowder
Analysis: Went to Victoria last start a placed in much tougher than this behind a boom horse. Will roll to near the front and should be too quick in the straight.
Race 6 – Farnley Stakes (1400m)
Tip: Wink and a Nod (Danger: Rebel King)
Analysis: Hard to find a reason why Wink and a Nod won’t win this, however Rebel King is the danger and he gets a better weight relief than the favourite. The rise to 1400m also looks like it will suit so I can see these two battling out the finish.
