Horse Racing Tips – 17th July 2015
A great return to the profits last week with about 7 units in our pocket in the end. We will take it every day of the week.
Some very nice horses popping up today so let’s hope they fall as they should and we can collect big time. Bring it on.
Outside of getting odds early, the best way to maximise your wins is to have an online bookie that gives you the ‘Best of’ markets. We prefer Bet365 because it gives you the best of the totes or the fixed price, and always seem to have the best fixed odds. Get a Bet365 account here
We recommend placing 1 unit each way on those with suitable place odds ($1.80 or more). Otherwise it is 2 units on the nose or 1 unit for multi’s.
Race 2: Francesco
Saw this thing win a maiden a fortnight ago and he was impressive. Having said that, his first three starts were in some very good company….Rubick, Earthquake anyone? Real chance here.
Race 5: Shiraz
Followed this horse last prep and won a nice little kitty. First up was super and there are no reasons why he won’t win this again.
Race 8: Golden Aro
Going for a little value here, but to be honest it is overs. First up was solid without threatening but stoked up nicely. Will strip fitter and gets a little weight off the back. Will be coming home.
Race 5: Herstory
Scratched from Rosehill today, and 4th up should be approaching peak fitness. Ready to win now and this race is not strong.
Race 7: Pago Rock
Can do a lot worse than follow this guy in this race. The favourite will be tough to beat but has barrier 14 to content with and a little more weight. Up to 1400m, barrier 2, and I can see Pago delivering like he has on occasions in the past.
Race 9: Bagman
Love this bloke, and he looks ready to win now after a steaming last run. Can handle the 60kg and Oliver stays on. He will love the open Flemington space and be coming home very strong.
Race 1: Shotacross the Bow
First race at Doomben, two year olds…god help me. But this little fella was impressive last start. This is no harder and he should get a nice sit from the barrier.
Race 2: Excellantes
Always there abouts and was tough last start. Always worries me at Doomben in these fields but he draws barrier 1 and that’s a huge plus.
Race 6: Little Brown Horse
Simply put I have to take her. One of my favourites, so either ride along for the fun or just avoid. A real chance at odds though.
Race 1: Chantski
Have watched this lady since the start. Make no mistake she is tough, and she is only two. Should win this but we will have to pay for it.
Race 4: Sireeze
Bit of value here. He is a good horse that runs in much tougher than this. Never draws a barrier but gets the inside today. Will be in it for a long way.
Race 5: North Ridge
Super consistent horse that draws well and gets in at the weights nicely. Tougher race but he has done nothing wrong.
Race 8: Tanjier
Lohnro gelding who stepped up to the mile last start and absolutely belted them. A touch further helps even more and he is weighted well.
Gold Coast (QLD)
Race 2: Real Sting
Don’t usually branch into the Goldy, but this thing cost me a packet last weekend because it got too far back. Its finish was electric, so barrier 4 really helps the run here. Get on!
Race 6: Marina Sands
Get’s a nice weight claim here, and is scratched from Doomben today to run in this. That strikes me.
For those that love a multi
Big Place Multi
Remember to go grab a Bet365 account. They easily offer the best alternate lines to lower your risk and increase value, and the in-play markets are awesome.
