AFL Betting Tips Round 13 – Fremantle Dockers vs Collingwood Magpies

Last week was a huge week rolling in the winners and taking us to almost 90 units profit for the season. The challenge now is to surpass that success and completely dominate the bookies. It all starts tonight.

Fremantle Dockers vs Collingwood Magpies

Domain Stadium

No one at the start of the season would have pencilled this game in as a battle of two teams in the top 4. But here we are.

The Dockers hit a little speed bump prior to their break, and while they still maintained their top standing, they showed a few cracks. Personally I think the break would be good for them and they are likely to be fired up for the second half of the season, and an assault at confirming the double chance and a few home finals.

The Pies are one of the surprise packets of the season based on ladder position. While most die-hard fans still wouldn’t place them a chance this season, they would have to be very happy with the outlook for the future. The comments keep coming about them not beating much, but you can only beat who you play, and while the Dockers are a challenge, I don’t think a loss to them in WA is the end of the world.

The Pies should make this a cracker and make no mistake they can cause an upset if the Dockers come out a little relaxed (just look at Melbourne last week). The money is coming for them and the market has moved from -25.5 to -20.5. Realistically, the pressure is on the Dockers here, but I think they have just a little too much firepower this season and should really win this.

AFL Betting Tip:  Scott Pendlebury vs Steele Sidebottom (H2H disposals)

Pick: Pendlebury

Analysis: Pendlebury is always very consistent averaging 27.9 disposals a game. Steele is averaging 25 a game but has only managed 21 and 22 disposals in his last two. Pendlebury has also won the disposal count 3 out of the last 4 games. Last year when these two teams met Pendlebury won the count 26 to 22 disposals.

Fyfe has dominated the competition this season and some bookies have even paid out on the Brownlow. Despite that he has gone under 31.5 in his last two games, and surprisingly has been under in 8 of the 11 games this year. This is a small middle but sits at a nice spot. Plus a little weighting to the under gives us a good chance to profit nonetheless, or worst case make a tiny loss.

AFL Betting Tip:  Nat Fyfe under 31.5 disposals

Odds: $1.87

Middling Bet 2

Pendlebury had 26 disposals against the Dockers last year and is averaging 27.9 so both have a slight lean towards unders (hence the weighting). Fremantle also give away one of the fewest counts for disposals against making it harder for teams to rack up huge amounts. Pendles is no doubt a star and we have tipped him to get more than Steele Sidebottom, but 29 disposals is still a large count

AFL Betting Tip:  Scott Pendlebury over 27.5 disposals
